Tan Sri Razali Ismail
Tan Sri Razali Ismail was Malaysia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in 1998. At the UN, he served in various capacities: Group of 77, UN Security Council, Commission on Sustainable Development and President of the General Assembly developing positions on development, sustainability, governance, UN reforms, and on political/security. He continues his involvement in these subjects in Malaysia and globally. He was the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Myanmar from 2000-2005.
He heads an NGO foundation on displaced children called Yayasan Chow Kit, sits on the Board of the Razak School of Government, and is Chairman of the Global Movement of Moderates Foundation. On April 2016, he was appointed as Chairman of Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) for a period of 3 years.
